Goodbye Gracefully was born out of profound personal heartbreak and a shared mission to protect grieving families. Our lead founder, Karen Dry, experienced the devastating betrayal of Legacy Funeral Directors firsthand. After entrusting them with her mum and dad’s cremations and funerals, she has been left to carry the agonizing, lifelong uncertainty of never truly knowing if the ashes she holds belong to her parents. 

This trauma is shared by co-founder Tristan Essex, whose beloved Nana Jessie was tragically one of the 35 individuals recovered during the investigation into the same directors.

Navigating loss is an inherently overwhelming journey, and our own tragedies highlighted just how vulnerable families can be when they aren't fully informed or protected.
